Producer Seda Özkaraca and writer and director Ali Kemal Güven started Istanbul-based Witchcrafts Films in 2019 with a mission to tell distinctly compelling stories in film and television. The duo shares an urge to bring experiences of women and queer individuals, particularly of those from Turkey, to the forefront and connect with audiences in their native and abroad. Witchcrafts Films has participated in various national and international film festivals, including the Ankara International Film Festival, !f Istanbul International Independent Film Festival, Orlando International Film Festival, the Bahamas Internatinal Film Festival, New Film Makers Los Angeles, Tirana International Film Festival, Eskişehir International Film Festival, İzmir International Short Film Festival, Cannes Short Film Corner, as well as entering the Palm Springs Film Market. Cahide Devekuşu’nun Açık Evliliği, a short written and directed by Ali Kemal Güven, has aired on Turkish online series and film platform, BluTv.
